Narrative:

We were taxiing for takeoff from the cargo ramp and we were holding short of 09R on taxiway ff. After landing traffic cleared we were told to taxi to runway 09L (9L were used for takeoff and 9R for land). We taxied all the way to 9L via ff and held short of 9L for takeoff however, after we got to 9L an aircraft following us was told to 'hold short on 9L on ff' leading us to believe that we might have done something wrong. Taxiway ff does not cross 9L, I crossed the approach path of 9L. We were led to believe based on earlier experiences in phl that since the taxiway does not cross the actual runway, runway 9L was only used for takeoff and taxiway ff only crosses the approach path of runway 9L, that we were cleared all the way. If we for some reason did something illegal it was not intentional. However this should possibly be addressed on the approach plate or somewhere else.

WE TAXIED ALL THE WAY TO 9L VIA FF AND HELD SHORT OF 9L FOR TKOF HOWEVER, AFTER WE GOT TO 9L AN ACFT FOLLOWING US WAS TOLD TO 'HOLD SHORT ON 9L ON FF' LEADING US TO BELIEVE THAT WE MIGHT HAVE DONE SOMETHING WRONG. TAXIWAY FF DOES NOT CROSS 9L, I CROSSED THE APCH PATH OF 9L. WE WERE LED TO BELIEVE BASED ON EARLIER EXPERIENCES IN PHL THAT SINCE THE TAXIWAY DOES NOT CROSS THE ACTUAL RWY, RWY 9L WAS ONLY USED FOR TKOF AND TAXIWAY FF ONLY CROSSES THE APCH PATH OF RWY 9L, THAT WE WERE CLRED ALL THE WAY. IF WE FOR SOME REASON DID SOMETHING ILLEGAL IT WAS NOT INTENTIONAL. HOWEVER THIS SHOULD POSSIBLY BE ADDRESSED ON THE APCH PLATE OR SOMEWHERE ELSE.
