Narrative:

#1 for takeoff in lga. Aircraft behind reports right rear galley door handle not properly stowed. Although this is a self stowing handle (wind should blow it flush), felt it necessary with lga aircraft history to taxi out of way and have flight attendant check the door. We taxied down runway to an inactive taxiway and stopped to check door. We showed no door light on in cockpit and flight attendant verified door was locked. We would have proceeded on for takeoff, however, we had talked to the tower controllers and the ground controllers and one of them had notified our company operations in lga. When I called the company they were aware of situation and were getting maintenance together to come look at door. Since this had already been done, I decided to let maintenance come out to airplane and push door handle flush -- which they did. I made no maintenance write up in book and did not get any sign off because I didn't feel this was a mechanical problem.
