Narrative:

Laguardia 4 departure whitestone climb by reference the special pages noise abatement departure procedure (which depicted all SID information except turn 2.5 DME for 040 degree heading) instead of the actual SID, and due to unfamiliarity of whitestone climb procedure of laguardia 4 SID, I mistakenly delayed the turn to 040 degree until 5 DME. I steepened the turn to minimize deviation as requested by departure ATC. No conflict was noted by departure control, visually, or on TCASII 10 mi range. Human factors consideration: when special page for noise abatement depicts nearly the entire SID instead of just stating the noise abatement power settings/clean-up altitudes. It might be mistakenly used as the primary SID reference.
