Narrative:

While taxiing as cleared to runway 13C at chicago, mdw crossed holding line which I thought was for runway 13R and proceeded to runway 13C but found no holding lines and was, though not on the runway, beyond the holding lines for 13C. It appears the holding lines that I thought were for runway 13R were also for 13C. In taxiing on taxiway foxtrot, I never saw any sign denoting where the approach end of runway 13R or where its holding lines, runup area etc were. I feel better identify is required for the non-familiar pilot relative to the holding lines for both 13R and 13C. When advised by ground control that I was within the runway environment (not on the runway), I made a 180 degree turn to a holding runup area to the left side of taxiway foxtrot. I feel there should be better identify of appropriate holding lines, and better identify of the approach end of 13R, especially as it is significantly shorter than the adjacent 13C.

I FEEL BETTER IDENT IS REQUIRED FOR THE NON-FAMILIAR PLT RELATIVE TO THE HOLDING LINES FOR BOTH 13R AND 13C. WHEN ADVISED BY GND CTL THAT I WAS WITHIN THE RWY ENVIRONMENT (NOT ON THE RWY), I MADE A 180 DEG TURN TO A HOLDING RUNUP AREA TO THE L SIDE OF TAXIWAY FOXTROT. I FEEL THERE SHOULD BE BETTER IDENT OF APPROPRIATE HOLDING LINES, AND BETTER IDENT OF THE APCH END OF 13R, ESPECIALLY AS IT IS SIGNIFICANTLY SHORTER THAN THE ADJACENT 13C.
