Narrative:

I work for a flight department of the local FBO. I was asked to fly an aircraft for one of the business owners (his personal aircraft) to pagosa from aspen. No explanation for the purpose of the trip, just fly it down. Upon arrival at pagosa, I was told that the aircraft (which was an experimental) had been ramped and grounded by the FAA for expiration of the experimental certificate. None of the people at our business had been informed by the owner of this grounding and I was not informed. As PIC, I should know everything about the aircraft although I had no way of finding this out ahead of time.
