Narrative:

Experienced split inboard trailing edge flap on approach. Inboard trailing edge flap stopped moving hydraulically at 15 degrees. Abnormal procedures executed (in accordance with our cockpit operating manual) to extend inboard trailing edge flap to 30 degrees. Accomplished normal landing. We orbited the field at 5000 ft to accomplish our checklist. First officer flew aircraft. Captain and so conducted checks. I recommend airfields establish a standard published profile for aircraft to deal with similar malfunctions, for example, 20 mi square 5000 ft. Terrain may be a factor in some areas. A published procedure would reduce your instantaneous concerns in an abnormal situation.
