Narrative:

Near 'rober' intersection, we received a question from center concerning our altitude. They showed us 300 ft high. It was then discovered that we had not set the local altimeter setting. The crew had become involved in programming the flight management system for the VOR approach to jfk, and had delayed setting the local altimeter. The contributing factor was the crew's preoccupation with the flight management system.
