Narrative:

While approaching north las vegas airport from the north, I contacted nellis approach for advisories. Due to our altitude, approach control picked us up on radar. After crossing the ridge and into the las vegas valley, we turned to the west and parallel the old gunnery ranges to remain clear of the TCA. After passing the last gunnery range and crossing the las 350 degree radial, we turned south toward vgt. Nellis approach came on and was about to say something then said 'remain clear of the TCA.' I'm not sure, but I believe he was about to say 'radio contact' but realized we were navigating to the airport and approaching the air traffic area. He may also have been trying to tell us something else.
