Narrative:

Flight was conducted from hvn to bwi. In the bwi vicinity, ATIS was copied. PNF briefed the PF on approach at bwi: 800 overcast, 2 mi fog. ILS runway 33R and 33L approachs in use. Due to expected normal operations at bwi for commuter aircraft, we inadvertently briefed for the ILS runway 33R approach. We were subsequently cleared for the ILS runway 33L approach. Neither the captain or myself realized we were not cleared for ILS runway 33R. After passing the FAF for ILS runway 33R. The controller questioned us as to if we were on the ILS runway 33R. He then cleared us for the ILS runway 33R approach. Flight continued without incident. After arriving at the gate, the captain called approach by telephone and explained situation. TRACON supervisor stated that there was no conflicting traffic at that time, so no action was being taken. Corrective actions: repetition of approachs at a particular airport can cause complacency.
