Narrative:

I was flying to love field and I thought I had been cleared for the ILS 31L approach the controller informed me I was left of the 31R approach. I told him I thought that I was supposed to be on the 31L approach. He told me I was cleared for 31R. While trying to set up for the 31R I lost 300 ft and flew through the 31R localizer, requiring another vector to reintercept. Eventually I intercepted and completed the approach without incident.

Narrative: I WAS FLYING TO LOVE FIELD AND I THOUGHT I HAD BEEN CLRED FOR THE ILS 31L APCH THE CTLR INFORMED ME I WAS L OF THE 31R APCH. I TOLD HIM I THOUGHT THAT I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ON THE 31L APCH. HE TOLD ME I WAS CLRED FOR 31R. WHILE TRYING TO SET UP FOR THE 31R I LOST 300 FT AND FLEW THROUGH THE 31R LOC, REQUIRING ANOTHER VECTOR TO REINTERCEPT. EVENTUALLY I INTERCEPTED AND COMPLETED THE APCH WITHOUT INCIDENT.
