Narrative:
Small aircraft Y was in a climb to 5500 ft. Approach gave us the small aircraft Y traffic when he was at our 1 O'clock position. We were in a descent to 6000 ft and at 6100 ft we had TCASII TA followed immediately by a climb RA. No visual sightings of aircraft was made. An immediate climb was made to 6800 ft after clearing airspace. I called approach and advised we had a TCASII alert and were climbing to 6800 ft. Once clear of known traffic we reported and descended to 6000 ft. A combination of our descent and the other acfts climb with little or no horizontal separation. We believe that small aircraft Y gave us the climb advisory.

Title: ACR X NON ADHERENCE TO ATC CLRNC TCASII TA RA UNAUTHORIZED CLB EVASIVE ACTION TAKEN FROM SMA Y.
Narrative: SMA Y WAS IN A CLB TO 5500 FT. APCH GAVE US THE SMA Y TFC WHEN HE WAS AT OUR 1 O'CLOCK POS. WE WERE IN A DSCNT TO 6000 FT AND AT 6100 FT WE HAD TCASII TA FOLLOWED IMMEDIATELY BY A CLB RA. NO VISUAL SIGHTINGS OF ACFT WAS MADE. AN IMMEDIATE CLB WAS MADE TO 6800 FT AFTER CLRING AIRSPACE. I CALLED APCH AND ADVISED WE HAD A TCASII ALERT AND WERE CLBING TO 6800 FT. ONCE CLR OF KNOWN TFC WE RPTED AND DSNDED TO 6000 FT. A COMBINATION OF OUR DSCNT AND THE OTHER ACFTS CLB WITH LITTLE OR NO HORIZ SEPARATION. WE BELIEVE THAT SMA Y GAVE US THE CLB ADVISORY.
