Narrative:

On a left base to final for runway 31 mdt we noticed a leading edge problem. We told tower and they said go around approved maintain 2000 ft. We told tower we were going to make a right 360 degree turn on final since there were no other aircraft in the pattern. After retracting the flaps and extending them we still had the led problem. We stopped our turn halfway through since we knew we would need more time. We rolled out on a 130 degree heading. We contacted departure. We were at 2400 ft instead of 2000 ft. They gave us delayed vectors and told us to maintain 4000 ft. The problem was fixed and we landed safely at mdt airport.
