Narrative:

Placed baggage in aircraft and secured same. Went inside FBO to pay for fuel and a passenger got out of the aircraft and decided to add another piece of luggage to the nose compartment, and did not properly latch it or notify the pilot of such action. Upon lift off the baggage door came open and the small shoe bag came out of the aircraft and fell onto the runway. I notified the tower and requested clearance to return to land on another runway. Permission was granted and a normal landing was made. Baggage was recovered and placed inside the aircraft. Another takeoff was made and aircraft returned to home base.
