Narrative:

Between legs with FAA inspector on jumpseat. The inspector informed me that his audio selector box was not working perfectly. The PA toggle would not select but he could hear the PA by selecting PA with transmitter rotary switch. So it would work ok. I let it pass. I was later thinking about it that I didn't know if he was expecting some action out of me (heart burn). My action would have to have been to MEL his audio box and remove him from the jump seat. Full plane he would have been left in stl instead of making it home to ind. I thought it was all perfectly safe but to save my heart burn (because you can't trust the FAA to be reasonable) I should have written it up and left him.
