Narrative:

The sfar over the grand canyon limits airspeed to 180 KTS. I was on an IFR clearance at 14000 ft from the grand canyon to las vegas, mccarran airport. While on the IFR clearance, I requested VFR on top at 12500 and 10500. My question is: am I restr to 180 KTS while on an IFR flight plan in the STAR? Am I restr to 180 KTS while 'VFR on top?' I called the local FSDO (las vegas) and they said that I'm not speed restr. Yet, my company says that I am. Can you please answer this for me? No one seems to know.
