Narrative:
Morristown (mmu) evidently changed their operating hours, now commencing operations at XA45 am versus xb 00 am. I was not aware of this change and taxied as though the airport was uncontrolled. I learned of the change when I transmitted on the tower frequency my departure intentions, only to be answered by a controller. At no time was there any conflict or any other plane operating in the air traffic area. Solution: always listen to ATIS.
