Narrative:

On jan/thu/92 there was a major change to the airway structure around phoenix. Because my company places commercial chart revisions in our crew mail boxes and since I had a short turnaround at my base, I didn't check my mail box, I didn't have current charts when operating into and out of phoenix. We got ATC to give us a contextual readout of the appropriate arrival and departure but this placed an undue burden on ATC and could have led to a misunderstanding of the readout. I have submitted a suggestion that the company forward revisions to all stations where crew originate when revisions become effective.
