Narrative:

We were on approach at 9000 inbound to clt from the west. Our heading was approximately 110 degree being vectored to east side of airport to land 36R. The approach controller gave us departure traffic off of 36R which was climbing (rapidly) to 8000 ft. We had him in sight briefly then lost him visually. We received a TA followed by a RA to climb 1500 FPM which we did. We climbed to 9400 ft, received a clear of conflict from TCASII, and returned to 9000.
