Narrative:

Flight from pbi to mia. On final 9L approximately 5 NM out, the 'cargo snake' central warning light came on with the other associated warnings. Orh procedures were followed, flight manual part 1 procedures were followed and an emergency was declared. Emergency equipment was requested. The crew reviewed emergency evacuate/evacuation procedures and prepared for landing. The before landing check was completed and an uneventful landing was made. Evacuate/evacuation of the aircraft on the ground proceeded without injury to passengers or crew members. No damage to the aircraft occurred. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information. Captain and I immediately agreed to treat the alarm as the real thing. Had ground equipment out and the works. Passengers left the aircraft in prompt but orderly fashion. Still do not know if it was a false alarm since no smoke or fire was found when firemen arrived.
