Narrative:

Passenger door warning light illuminated approximately 20 northwest of phl at 10000 during our descent into phl. Flight attendant advised that even though the door appeared locked, the overhead cam had moved slightly and was no longer fully in the slot which prevents door handle from moving. Since the integrity of the passenger door was now questionable, I declared an emergency and landed at phl without incident. Aircraft logbook contained 2 previous writeups concerning problems with door.
