Narrative:
Apparently a cockpit microphone was stuck open while talking to ZFW. We were 'selcaled' and made aware of the problem. Perhaps after a few mins of silence we should have suspected a problem, however, often is the case while flying in the mid west that radio calls can be far and few between. In the future, I will question all periods of extended silence.

Title: FLC OF MLG IN CRUISE WAS SELCALLED TO ADVISE THEY WERE OFF THE AIR WITH A STUCK MICROPHONE.
Narrative: APPARENTLY A COCKPIT MICROPHONE WAS STUCK OPEN WHILE TALKING TO ZFW. WE WERE 'SELCALED' AND MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. PERHAPS AFTER A FEW MINS OF SILENCE WE SHOULD HAVE SUSPECTED A PROBLEM, HOWEVER, OFTEN IS THE CASE WHILE FLYING IN THE MID W THAT RADIO CALLS CAN BE FAR AND FEW BTWN. IN THE FUTURE, I WILL QUESTION ALL PERIODS OF EXTENDED SILENCE.
