Narrative:

While en route to lax about 1 hour from landing, the captain excused himself from the cockpit to the lavatory. A few mins later, he returned complaining of stomach problems and was sweating and he said that he had been vomiting. He suspected food poisoning. He stated that we should proceed to los angeles but he wanted our company medical department to meet him upon arrival. We advised our company dispatch of the situation and we (captain and I) decided that he was well enough to continue. The captain's condition slowly worsened throughout the approach and landing. We flew a coupled approach and I made the landing as it was my turn to land anyway. After landing (runway 25L) and stopping short of runway 25R the captain became too weak to continue and he decided that I should switch seats with him and taxi the aircraft to the gate. Since I have a type rating in the aircraft and the gate area was uncongested, I felt comfortable with this situation and taxied to the gate with no problem. The medical team escorted the captain from the aircraft and treated him. Throughout the event the captain was never mentally impaired, but he was uncomfortable physically for the remainder of the flight. ATC was not advised as the captain was able to act as PNF and was able to perform as such until after landing as stated.

Title: CAPT BECAME ILL AND PARTIALLY INCAPACITATED 1 HR OUT OF LAX. FLT CONTINUED TO NORMAL LNDG.

Narrative: WHILE ENRTE TO LAX ABOUT 1 HR FROM LNDG, THE CAPT EXCUSED HIMSELF FROM THE COCKPIT TO THE LAVATORY. A FEW MINS LATER, HE RETURNED COMPLAINING OF STOMACH PROBLEMS AND WAS SWEATING AND HE SAID THAT HE HAD BEEN VOMITING. HE SUSPECTED FOOD POISONING. HE STATED THAT WE SHOULD PROCEED TO LOS ANGELES BUT HE WANTED OUR COMPANY MEDICAL DEPT TO MEET HIM UPON ARR. WE ADVISED OUR COMPANY DISPATCH OF THE SITUATION AND WE (CAPT AND I) DECIDED THAT HE WAS WELL ENOUGH TO CONTINUE. THE CAPT'S CONDITION SLOWLY WORSENED THROUGHOUT THE APCH AND LNDG. WE FLEW A COUPLED APCH AND I MADE THE LNDG AS IT WAS MY TURN TO LAND ANYWAY. AFTER LNDG (RWY 25L) AND STOPPING SHORT OF RWY 25R THE CAPT BECAME TOO WEAK TO CONTINUE AND HE DECIDED THAT I SHOULD SWITCH SEATS WITH HIM AND TAXI THE ACFT TO THE GATE. SINCE I HAVE A TYPE RATING IN THE ACFT AND THE GATE AREA WAS UNCONGESTED, I FELT COMFORTABLE WITH THIS SITUATION AND TAXIED TO THE GATE WITH NO PROBLEM. THE MEDICAL TEAM ESCORTED THE CAPT FROM THE ACFT AND TREATED HIM. THROUGHOUT THE EVENT THE CAPT WAS NEVER MENTALLY IMPAIRED, BUT HE WAS UNCOMFORTABLE PHYSICALLY FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE FLT. ATC WAS NOT ADVISED AS THE CAPT WAS ABLE TO ACT AS PNF AND WAS ABLE TO PERFORM AS SUCH UNTIL AFTER LNDG AS STATED.
