Narrative:

When departing phl to the northeast the canned ATC clearance is ditch J225 jfk. After departure to the west departure gives you a turn to the southeast and clears you to join the cyn 274 degree radial then as filed. While the SID is correct (example #1) I think it would be easier to understand if the 274 degree radial line were extended (example #2). I think this change would make it easier to understand that you are expected to join the cyn 274 radial west of ditch then fly the cyn 274 radial inbound to ditch (094 degree inbound).

Narrative: WHEN DEPARTING PHL TO THE NE THE CANNED ATC CLRNC IS DITCH J225 JFK. AFTER DEP TO THE W DEP GIVES YOU A TURN TO THE SE AND CLRS YOU TO JOIN THE CYN 274 DEG RADIAL THEN AS FILED. WHILE THE SID IS CORRECT (EXAMPLE #1) I THINK IT WOULD BE EASIER TO UNDERSTAND IF THE 274 DEG RADIAL LINE WERE EXTENDED (EXAMPLE #2). I THINK THIS CHANGE WOULD MAKE IT EASIER TO UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE EXPECTED TO JOIN THE CYN 274 RADIAL W OF DITCH THEN FLY THE CYN 274 RADIAL INBOUND TO DITCH (094 DEG INBOUND).
