Narrative:

Flight orlando to boston on approach to logan airport. Approach control had given vectors to final. At 15 mi, coming from south, approach cleared us direct 'loner' (heading 002), descend to 3000 (intersection fix ILS 27). About 5 mi from 'loner' we were cleared direct 'ripit' (FAF), heading approximately 300, cross 'loner' at or above 1700, slow to 170 KTS, cross 'ripit' at 170 KTS, cleared for visual 27. After descending to 1700, within 1-2 mi from 'ripit', we got a TCASII warning -- traffic, traffic, which distracted us. I was flying manually and descended to 1580 looking for traffic. I climbed back immediately to 1700 (no traffic sighted), approach said they received a 'low altitude' warning, please check your altitude. We were already back at 1700 ft. As we crossed 'ripit' the TCASII was still going off saying 'traffic, traffic, descend, descend now' and I descended to 1 1/2 dots below GS. At same time, we had a 'below GS' warning -- pullup, pullup. First officer contacted tower to confirm. There was no traffic or any conflict. I climbed back to GS and 1000 ft AGL/MSL. Aircraft was stabilized (with TCASII still giving commands). All TCASII commands were erroneous. First officer turned off TCASII to transponder only. Flight landed normally. It was a very annoying and disturbing time for this type of distraction requiring evasive action based on false commands, one requiring immediate evasive action to descend below GS on final inside FAF, the other to pull up from ground proximity warning system.

Title: FLC OF MLG ON APCH TO BOS HAD TCASII RA TO DSND, BELOW GS AND AT SAME TIME RECEIVED COMMAND FROM GND PROX WARNING SYS TO PULL UP.

Narrative: FLT ORLANDO TO BOSTON ON APCH TO LOGAN ARPT. APCH CTL HAD GIVEN VECTORS TO FINAL. AT 15 MI, COMING FROM S, APCH CLRED US DIRECT 'LONER' (HDG 002), DSND TO 3000 (INTXN FIX ILS 27). ABOUT 5 MI FROM 'LONER' WE WERE CLRED DIRECT 'RIPIT' (FAF), HDG APPROX 300, CROSS 'LONER' AT OR ABOVE 1700, SLOW TO 170 KTS, CROSS 'RIPIT' AT 170 KTS, CLRED FOR VISUAL 27. AFTER DSNDING TO 1700, WITHIN 1-2 MI FROM 'RIPIT', WE GOT A TCASII WARNING -- TFC, TFC, WHICH DISTRACTED US. I WAS FLYING MANUALLY AND DSNDED TO 1580 LOOKING FOR TFC. I CLBED BACK IMMEDIATELY TO 1700 (NO TFC SIGHTED), APCH SAID THEY RECEIVED A 'LOW ALT' WARNING, PLEASE CHK YOUR ALT. WE WERE ALREADY BACK AT 1700 FT. AS WE CROSSED 'RIPIT' THE TCASII WAS STILL GOING OFF SAYING 'TFC, TFC, DSND, DSND NOW' AND I DSNDED TO 1 1/2 DOTS BELOW GS. AT SAME TIME, WE HAD A 'BELOW GS' WARNING -- PULLUP, PULLUP. FO CONTACTED TWR TO CONFIRM. THERE WAS NO TFC OR ANY CONFLICT. I CLBED BACK TO GS AND 1000 FT AGL/MSL. ACFT WAS STABILIZED (WITH TCASII STILL GIVING COMMANDS). ALL TCASII COMMANDS WERE ERRONEOUS. FO TURNED OFF TCASII TO TRANSPONDER ONLY. FLT LANDED NORMALLY. IT WAS A VERY ANNOYING AND DISTURBING TIME FOR THIS TYPE OF DISTR REQUIRING EVASIVE ACTION BASED ON FALSE COMMANDS, ONE REQUIRING IMMEDIATE EVASIVE ACTION TO DSND BELOW GS ON FINAL INSIDE FAF, THE OTHER TO PULL UP FROM GND PROX WARNING SYS.
