Narrative:

Our clearance was received by printed departure clearance altitude 8000 which was set in window by me and verified by first officer. On climb out off runway 5 we were turned over to departure. We were climbing through 9000 for 10000 which was in window verified by both pilots and reported to clt. He asked us what altitude we were climbing to. We reported 10000. We then remembered the 8000 that was set before, then we recalled that the mechanic had pulled the external power without notifying us to put the APU on line. A power interruption caused the altitude window to revert to 10000 ft.
