Narrative:

At XA26Z I accepted a radar handoff on an light transport. At XA27Z I terminated VFR flight following on small aircraft and told him to contact columbus approach for possible flight following. At the same time, while attempting to cancel track/flight plan on small aircraft, I apparently cancelled track/flight plan on the light transport which resulted in him entering the next sector without a handoff. 2 sectors were combined at 1 position during this incident. In retrospect, if they had been split this error may not have happened.

Title: ARTCC RADAR CTLR DROPPED TRACK ON WRONG TARGET AND ACFT ENTERED ADJACENT SECTOR AIRSPACE WITHOUT A HDOF.

Narrative: AT XA26Z I ACCEPTED A RADAR HDOF ON AN LTT. AT XA27Z I TERMINATED VFR FLT FOLLOWING ON SMA AND TOLD HIM TO CONTACT COLUMBUS APCH FOR POSSIBLE FLT FOLLOWING. AT THE SAME TIME, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO CANCEL TRACK/FLT PLAN ON SMA, I APPARENTLY CANCELLED TRACK/FLT PLAN ON THE LTT WHICH RESULTED IN HIM ENTERING THE NEXT SECTOR WITHOUT A HDOF. 2 SECTORS WERE COMBINED AT 1 POS DURING THIS INCIDENT. IN RETROSPECT, IF THEY HAD BEEN SPLIT THIS ERROR MAY NOT HAVE HAPPENED.
