Narrative:

While about to touchdown I felt the landing gear start to collapse. I heard the propeller strike and then initiated immediate full power and go around procedures. At this time I glanced outside the window and noticed that the landing gear appeared to be down but also retracting. While during the go around procedures I noticed the usual 'clunk' of the gear being fully retracted. As I recalled the circumstances and my pilot training I assured that the gear was down with a green light and a visual check on the pilot's side. Since my wife was in right seat I asked her to visually check the right gear to be down. I performed this check twice, once on the OM and then again on short final. Recalling the incident I heard no gear warning horn even though the flaps were down 20 degree and manifold pressure was below 15 inches and at idle near touchdown. After this occurrence I immediately returned to home base where I had no further problems. Other than some slight propeller damage, 2 antennas were damaged.

Title: GEAR COLLAPSE ON LNDG SMA ACFT.

Narrative: WHILE ABOUT TO TOUCHDOWN I FELT THE LNDG GEAR START TO COLLAPSE. I HEARD THE PROP STRIKE AND THEN INITIATED IMMEDIATE FULL PWR AND GAR PROCS. AT THIS TIME I GLANCED OUTSIDE THE WINDOW AND NOTICED THAT THE LNDG GEAR APPEARED TO BE DOWN BUT ALSO RETRACTING. WHILE DURING THE GAR PROCS I NOTICED THE USUAL 'CLUNK' OF THE GEAR BEING FULLY RETRACTED. AS I RECALLED THE CIRCUMSTANCES AND MY PLT TRAINING I ASSURED THAT THE GEAR WAS DOWN WITH A GREEN LIGHT AND A VISUAL CHK ON THE PLT'S SIDE. SINCE MY WIFE WAS IN R SEAT I ASKED HER TO VISUALLY CHK THE R GEAR TO BE DOWN. I PERFORMED THIS CHK TWICE, ONCE ON THE OM AND THEN AGAIN ON SHORT FINAL. RECALLING THE INCIDENT I HEARD NO GEAR WARNING HORN EVEN THOUGH THE FLAPS WERE DOWN 20 DEG AND MANIFOLD PRESSURE WAS BELOW 15 INCHES AND AT IDLE NEAR TOUCHDOWN. AFTER THIS OCCURRENCE I IMMEDIATELY RETURNED TO HOME BASE WHERE I HAD NO FURTHER PROBLEMS. OTHER THAN SOME SLIGHT PROP DAMAGE, 2 ANTENNAS WERE DAMAGED.
