Narrative:

We were descending into mco and were told by ZJX to cross 60 southwest of lal at 23000 ft. The captain was flying, misread his distance on the FMS and missed the altitude by at least 3000 ft high. I asked the captain if he wanted the altitude restriction lifted by center, but he thought he could make it. Contributing factors: 1) FMS is not user friendly (new widebody transport). 2) captain and first officer low time in aircraft. 3) first officer has not flown the aircraft on the line since july.
