Narrative:

After landing (on instrument flight plan) at columbus, GA, and after clearing runway went to ground control as directed. Asked for clearance to GA ramp, 'cleared to ramp'. Began taxiing as per my govt chart, following yellow line. Yellow line quit but before it did, there was a fence that had been erected across the taxiway. The fence needs to be better marked. It has red lights and small red reflectors on it. Some type of caution signs need to be put on fence. I called the tower chief at columbus, GA, to make a safety report.

Title: CLRING RWY, USING ARPT DIAGRAM, PLT ENCOUNTERS FENCE ACROSS TAXIWAY.

Narrative: AFTER LNDG (ON INST FLT PLAN) AT COLUMBUS, GA, AND AFTER CLRING RWY WENT TO GND CTL AS DIRECTED. ASKED FOR CLRNC TO GA RAMP, 'CLRED TO RAMP'. BEGAN TAXIING AS PER MY GOVT CHART, FOLLOWING YELLOW LINE. YELLOW LINE QUIT BUT BEFORE IT DID, THERE WAS A FENCE THAT HAD BEEN ERECTED ACROSS THE TAXIWAY. THE FENCE NEEDS TO BE BETTER MARKED. IT HAS RED LIGHTS AND SMALL RED REFLECTORS ON IT. SOME TYPE OF CAUTION SIGNS NEED TO BE PUT ON FENCE. I CALLED THE TWR CHIEF AT COLUMBUS, GA, TO MAKE A SAFETY RPT.
