Narrative:

After crossing lam while en route mid via uri we were given emergency right turn to heading 320 degree. We complied and were told that we were expected to fly standard routing lam direct cmp. We were flying route filed. ATC informed us that our flight plan route was not correct and that they expected us to fly what they consider is the normal correct route. We believe that our computer flight plan does not agree with standard routing and that ATC did not confirm our routing on handoff from prior controller. This flight is a 2 crew with third pilot operation company procedures require 2 pilots to monitor north atlantic ATC clearance. At time of this incident the first officer was flying aircraft, I/O was getting nat track, captain was monitoring nat track clearance primarily and local ATC secondarily. Suspect that it would be better to have 2 pilots remain on local ATC and allow I/O to get track alone (I/O gets automatic track information service and multiple xchks are made to insure correct track). Greatest threat is problems with local ATC and traffic watch rather than 2 pilots monitoring the track clearance.

Narrative: AFTER XING LAM WHILE ENRTE MID VIA URI WE WERE GIVEN EMER R TURN TO HDG 320 DEG. WE COMPLIED AND WERE TOLD THAT WE WERE EXPECTED TO FLY STANDARD RTING LAM DIRECT CMP. WE WERE FLYING RTE FILED. ATC INFORMED US THAT OUR FLT PLAN RTE WAS NOT CORRECT AND THAT THEY EXPECTED US TO FLY WHAT THEY CONSIDER IS THE NORMAL CORRECT RTE. WE BELIEVE THAT OUR COMPUTER FLT PLAN DOES NOT AGREE WITH STANDARD RTING AND THAT ATC DID NOT CONFIRM OUR RTING ON HDOF FROM PRIOR CTLR. THIS FLT IS A 2 CREW WITH THIRD PLT OP COMPANY PROCS REQUIRE 2 PLTS TO MONITOR N ATLANTIC ATC CLRNC. AT TIME OF THIS INCIDENT THE FO WAS FLYING ACFT, I/O WAS GETTING NAT TRACK, CAPT WAS MONITORING NAT TRACK CLRNC PRIMARILY AND LCL ATC SECONDARILY. SUSPECT THAT IT WOULD BE BETTER TO HAVE 2 PLTS REMAIN ON LCL ATC AND ALLOW I/O TO GET TRACK ALONE (I/O GETS AUTOMATIC TRACK INFO SVC AND MULTIPLE XCHKS ARE MADE TO INSURE CORRECT TRACK). GREATEST THREAT IS PROBLEMS WITH LCL ATC AND TFC WATCH RATHER THAN 2 PLTS MONITORING THE TRACK CLRNC.
