Narrative:

While being cleared for takeoff on runway 24R and not being familiar with the runway, I moved the airplane onto the taxiway that parallels the runway. I had to make a 180 and taxi back onto the runway. This made no problems with any approaching traffic or on the ground. An airplane behind me stopped, while he knew the area of the airport. Correction or better ground markings at airports would be the solution for this.
