Narrative:

I filed IFR from cpm to widebody transport for oct at XX30 local with hhr FSS by phone. (Flight plan attached). Route of flight was cpm dir lax V210 pmd V197 wjf. Next day at approximately XY00 , I called TRACON by phone and received my clearance. It read, cleared to wjf as filed, maintain 3000, enter controled airspace..., etc. 3 mi south of lax VOR, the controller idented my aircraft and stated '...resume own navigation...' as I proceeded to pmd via V201, the controller questioned my routing, remarks were exchanged and the problem idented. The routing I had filed with hhr FSS had been changed to a preferred routing and I had not been notified of the change prior to crossing lax or when I received my clearance from TRACON. This could have developed into a very dangerous situation.

NEXT DAY AT APPROX XY00 , I CALLED TRACON BY PHONE AND RECEIVED MY CLRNC. IT READ, CLRED TO WJF AS FILED, MAINTAIN 3000, ENTER CTLED AIRSPACE..., ETC. 3 MI S OF LAX VOR, THE CTLR IDENTED MY ACFT AND STATED '...RESUME OWN NAV...' AS I PROCEEDED TO PMD VIA V201, THE CTLR QUESTIONED MY ROUTING, REMARKS WERE EXCHANGED AND THE PROBLEM IDENTED. THE ROUTING I HAD FILED WITH HHR FSS HAD BEEN CHANGED TO A PREFERRED ROUTING AND I HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE CHANGE PRIOR TO XING LAX OR WHEN I RECEIVED MY CLRNC FROM TRACON. THIS COULD HAVE DEVELOPED INTO A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
