Narrative:

The captain calculated gross weight of aircraft. Flight was full so jump seat only available. Using all adult weight, jump rider could have put us overweight by 30 pounds. Gross weight is 27100 so we may use child weight which is 1/2 of adult. So we could carry jump seat rider when we can. So asked flight attendant if any children and she said we had 2 children on board. Adjusted paperwork and off we went. On arrival at destination asked flight attendant where were the 2 kids. She replied 'oh they were acting like kids.' briefed flight attendant why we asked her kid weights not their behavior of adults. What I asked for and what she thought I said were 2 very different things.
