Narrative:

I flew from einn to kjfk and an additional 2.4 in ferrying jfk-phl-day for total of 9.9 hours aloft. Scheduled rest period began at XX30. Upon post-flight call to dispatch by the captain, dispatchers told us we were to depart at YY00 for flight day-lax. That would give us only 14.0 hours of rest. We argued that a min of 16 hours was needed but crew scheduling came up with some story about dropping time, etc, and made us take the trip or else! Trip left at YY30. I believe I was in violation of far 121.503 paragraph B, 121.505 paragraph a.
