Narrative:

En route from medford, or, to puyalup airport. Discontinued flight following 8 mi south of salem airport. Called tower (salem) 6 mi south and requested to land for fuel. Tower gave me straight-in approach to runway 34 and said to report 3 south. Tower called back 4 1/2 mi out to confirm I was approaching from south. So I disregarded the report of 3 south after I was unable to contact tower due other traffic. There was not a break in communications until I was 20 ft AGL. So I landed and tower claimed I wasn't cleared. The tower was very rude, not because of the landing, but just in nature. I did not feel welcome, I don't plan to visit salem again.

SO I DISREGARDED THE RPT OF 3 S AFTER I WAS UNABLE TO CONTACT TWR DUE OTHER TFC. THERE WAS NOT A BREAK IN COMS UNTIL I WAS 20 FT AGL. SO I LANDED AND TWR CLAIMED I WASN'T CLRED. THE TWR WAS VERY RUDE, NOT BECAUSE OF THE LNDG, BUT JUST IN NATURE. I DID NOT FEEL WELCOME, I DON'T PLAN TO VISIT SALEM AGAIN.
