Narrative:

On descent to pit controller called 'known VFR at 6500'. Level at 6000 our TCASII called 'traffic', followed by RA 'monitor vertical speed', followed by 'descend'. We acquired aircraft visually while descending to 5800 ft. Conflict ended. We notified ATC of RA and altitude deviation and climbed back to 6000.
