Narrative:

While on a vector for runway 17L with dfw approach control, we were just about to level off at 5000 ft assigned when TCAS called out 'traffic, traffic.' shortly thereafter TCAS called 'climb, climb', and a climb was initiated. Climb was made to 5300 ft, TCAS said clear of conflict and aircraft was returned to 5000 ft. Other traffic was never sighted by pilot, copilot, or jump seat observer.

Title: ACR RECEIVES TCASII RA. RESPONDS.

Narrative: WHILE ON A VECTOR FOR RWY 17L WITH DFW APCH CTL, WE WERE JUST ABOUT TO LEVEL OFF AT 5000 FT ASSIGNED WHEN TCAS CALLED OUT 'TFC, TFC.' SHORTLY THEREAFTER TCAS CALLED 'CLB, CLB', AND A CLB WAS INITIATED. CLB WAS MADE TO 5300 FT, TCAS SAID CLR OF CONFLICT AND ACFT WAS RETURNED TO 5000 FT. OTHER TFC WAS NEVER SIGHTED BY PLT, COPLT, OR JUMP SEAT OBSERVER.
