Narrative:
We were in a cruise descent tracking outbound on the lga 055 radial to intercept V487. The captain was flying and I had the bdr 355 radial set up on my side. New york center then asked us our heading to which I replied 060. Center advised we were 6 mi east of V487 and gave us a left turn to rejoin. Upon my inquiry ATC advised that there had been no traffic conflict. A stuck needle on my HSI, no DME at bdr and an interruption by a flight attendant were all contributing causes to this course deviation.
