Narrative:

I served as first officer on flight between iah and btr. 5 days later I was notified that a small piece of silver duct tape was found covering the alternate static port of the aircraft. No abnormal occurrences or indications were experienced with respect to that system on my flight. The captain did the exterior preflight on both flts but in each case the time available was short due to aircraft substitution and late arrival at gate for flight iah to btr. Very short layover at hotel at btr and a last min check in so as to allow crew maximum rest possible. Supplemental information from acn 186283. Aircraft just out of 'C' check, 2 walk arounds failed to spot covered auxiliary static port.
