Narrative:

On sat, july, I assisted in repositioning aircraft from the company hangar to the main terminal. I assisted in the right seat by using the radio. As we got underway I called the tower and requested clearance to taxi to the gate from the hangar. I was told 'clear to taxi through to gate.' I was surprised at the response so I reiterated that aircraft was at the hangar wishing to go to the gate and was given the same response 'cleared to gate.' at taxiway A-3 we turned left short F runway 5 and cleared of traffic to the left and right proceeded across runway 5. It was at this point I changed selections on my audio panel and called ramp control. It was in actuality the FAA ground control frequency I was calling and upon advising them that I was at the intersection of bravo and michael taxiways they asked me to stop and hold. I then was asked who cleared me to cross runway 5. I replied, 'the tower.' upon checking again I then realized that I tuned the proper radio frequencys (the company frequency then FAA/ATC ground). We were then cleared to taxi on to gate and asked to call the tower upon arrival. This I did and explained that I called the company tower or ramp control by mistake and they cleared me to the gate. I failed to remember to then call ground control for taxi instructions. The sequence should have been ground control for taxi instructions. The sequence should have been ground control first, then ramp. We xed runway 5 without proper clearance and I fully realize my wrong doing and possible consequences. I would like to say however, although incorrect, this was not gross negligence on my part, we felt we were properly cleared to cross runway 5 and took special notice that there were no aircraft on close final or on the runway 5 at all.

Title: 2 ACFT MECHS TAXIED AN ACFT ACROSS A RWY WITHOUT TWR CLRNC. RPTR HAD CONFUSED COMPANY RAMP FREQ WITH ATCT GND CTL FREQ.

Narrative: ON SAT, JULY, I ASSISTED IN REPOSITIONING ACFT FROM THE COMPANY HANGAR TO THE MAIN TERMINAL. I ASSISTED IN THE R SEAT BY USING THE RADIO. AS WE GOT UNDERWAY I CALLED THE TWR AND REQUESTED CLRNC TO TAXI TO THE GATE FROM THE HANGAR. I WAS TOLD 'CLR TO TAXI THROUGH TO GATE.' I WAS SURPRISED AT THE RESPONSE SO I REITERATED THAT ACFT WAS AT THE HANGAR WISHING TO GO TO THE GATE AND WAS GIVEN THE SAME RESPONSE 'CLRED TO GATE.' AT TAXIWAY A-3 WE TURNED L SHORT F RWY 5 AND CLRED OF TFC TO THE L AND R PROCEEDED ACROSS RWY 5. IT WAS AT THIS POINT I CHANGED SELECTIONS ON MY AUDIO PANEL AND CALLED RAMP CTL. IT WAS IN ACTUALITY THE FAA GND CTL FREQ I WAS CALLING AND UPON ADVISING THEM THAT I WAS AT THE INTXN OF BRAVO AND MICHAEL TAXIWAYS THEY ASKED ME TO STOP AND HOLD. I THEN WAS ASKED WHO CLRED ME TO CROSS RWY 5. I REPLIED, 'THE TWR.' UPON CHKING AGAIN I THEN REALIZED THAT I TUNED THE PROPER RADIO FREQS (THE COMPANY FREQ THEN FAA/ATC GND). WE WERE THEN CLRED TO TAXI ON TO GATE AND ASKED TO CALL THE TWR UPON ARR. THIS I DID AND EXPLAINED THAT I CALLED THE COMPANY TWR OR RAMP CTL BY MISTAKE AND THEY CLRED ME TO THE GATE. I FAILED TO REMEMBER TO THEN CALL GND CTL FOR TAXI INSTRUCTIONS. THE SEQUENCE SHOULD HAVE BEEN GND CTL FOR TAXI INSTRUCTIONS. THE SEQUENCE SHOULD HAVE BEEN GND CTL FIRST, THEN RAMP. WE XED RWY 5 WITHOUT PROPER CLRNC AND I FULLY REALIZE MY WRONG DOING AND POSSIBLE CONSEQUENCES. I WOULD LIKE TO SAY HOWEVER, ALTHOUGH INCORRECT, THIS WAS NOT GROSS NEGLIGENCE ON MY PART, WE FELT WE WERE PROPERLY CLRED TO CROSS RWY 5 AND TOOK SPECIAL NOTICE THAT THERE WERE NO ACFT ON CLOSE FINAL OR ON THE RWY 5 AT ALL.
