Narrative:

We were proceeding southeast 5 mi northeast of oak while in contact with oakland tower. A late handoff from oakland caused us to penetrate hayward's air traffic area. When we contacted hayward tower they did not seem aware of the handoff. When oakland handed us off they did not advise us to squawk 1200 or that radar service was terminated so I assumed hayward tower knew we were arriving. The tower controller at hayward sounded upset that oakland had not informed him of the handoff.

Title: SMA CFI CITES A LATE HDOF FROM OAK TWR AS MAJOR CAUSE OF UNAUTHORIZED PENETRATION OF AIRSPACE.

Narrative: WE WERE PROCEEDING SE 5 MI NE OF OAK WHILE IN CONTACT WITH OAKLAND TWR. A LATE HDOF FROM OAKLAND CAUSED US TO PENETRATE HAYWARD'S ATA. WHEN WE CONTACTED HAYWARD TWR THEY DID NOT SEEM AWARE OF THE HDOF. WHEN OAKLAND HANDED US OFF THEY DID NOT ADVISE US TO SQUAWK 1200 OR THAT RADAR SVC WAS TERMINATED SO I ASSUMED HAYWARD TWR KNEW WE WERE ARRIVING. THE TWR CTLR AT HAYWARD SOUNDED UPSET THAT OAKLAND HAD NOT INFORMED HIM OF THE HDOF.
