Narrative:

Approaching anc and cleared for a susitna river visual approach to runway 14 anc approach control pointed traffic to us at our 10-11 O'clock 3/4 mi no altitude information. We noticed the aircraft at approximately our altitude 1600 ft assigned. We abruptly but smoothly descended and the small aircraft passed over us with about 600 ft vertical separation. This aircraft had been talking with no facility and illegally penetrated the anc arsa. Our flight continued to a normal flight and landing. A near miss was filed and the FAA is now searching for the small aircraft.
