Narrative:

While performing fast taxi test in new homebuilt I misjudged the length of runway left to come to a stop. I overflew a fence at the end of the runway and while trying to climb so I could return to the field the engine stopped. I don't think I went up over 100'. Because I did not set the altimeter just for taxiing, I did not look at it. As the engine was a highly modified ford model 'B' and the person who did most of the work on it is on vacation, I can't say what caused the engine out. The landing gear and propeller were the only things damaged.
