Narrative:

Captain at controls at approximately XX40 local approaching phl while talking to ZNY on 133.67. We were level at 11000'. Center told us of traffic 500' below us at 1-2 O'clock, 5 mi. TCAS picked it up and verified. We told him it did. We did not have the traffic in sight. The controller asked us if we would like a heading ot avoid traffic. As we started to confirm we would like a vector, TCAS said, 'traffic, climb, climb.' we alerted controller we were turning and climbing. We climbed 300' to avoid conflict.

Narrative: CAPT AT CTLS AT APPROX XX40 LCL APCHING PHL WHILE TALKING TO ZNY ON 133.67. WE WERE LEVEL AT 11000'. CENTER TOLD US OF TFC 500' BELOW US AT 1-2 O'CLOCK, 5 MI. TCAS PICKED IT UP AND VERIFIED. WE TOLD HIM IT DID. WE DID NOT HAVE THE TFC IN SIGHT. THE CTLR ASKED US IF WE WOULD LIKE A HDG OT AVOID TFC. AS WE STARTED TO CONFIRM WE WOULD LIKE A VECTOR, TCAS SAID, 'TFC, CLB, CLB.' WE ALERTED CTLR WE WERE TURNING AND CLBING. WE CLBED 300' TO AVOID CONFLICT.
