Narrative:

Some company pilots and some ATC controllers use abbreviated company identification in their radio calls when they should be saying full call sign. Shortening the call sign has the potential for confusing our company with similar company and other call signs. I recommend a notice to pilots and controllers about the potential problems with using abbreviated vs full call sign.

Title: ACR MLG CAPT COMPLAINS THAT SOME OF HIS COMPANY FLT CREW MEMBERS AND SOME CTLRS ARE USING AN ABBREVIATED COMPANY CALL SIGN THAT CAN BE EASILY CONFUSED WITH A SIMILAR ACR CALL SIGN.

Narrative: SOME COMPANY PLTS AND SOME ATC CTLRS USE ABBREVIATED COMPANY ID IN THEIR RADIO CALLS WHEN THEY SHOULD BE SAYING FULL CALL SIGN. SHORTENING THE CALL SIGN HAS THE POTENTIAL FOR CONFUSING OUR COMPANY WITH SIMILAR COMPANY AND OTHER CALL SIGNS. I RECOMMEND A NOTICE TO PLTS AND CTLRS ABOUT THE POTENTIAL PROBS WITH USING ABBREVIATED VS FULL CALL SIGN.
