Narrative:
Landing small aircraft and it ground-looped in light crosswind. Chkride afterward with another CFI indicated no problem with my technique, but found that tail wheel would not fully turn to the right, leading to ground-loop to the left. Lesson: if anything at all screwy during preflight or taxiout, don't fly--get it checked. Luckily no damage to aircraft and no injuries.

Title: SMA CFI GND LOOPS HIS ACFT WHEN TAIL WHEEL WILL NOT DEFLECT IN A STEERING MANEUVER.
Narrative: LNDG SMA AND IT GND-LOOPED IN LIGHT XWIND. CHKRIDE AFTERWARD WITH ANOTHER CFI INDICATED NO PROB WITH MY TECHNIQUE, BUT FOUND THAT TAIL WHEEL WOULD NOT FULLY TURN TO THE RIGHT, LEADING TO GND-LOOP TO THE LEFT. LESSON: IF ANYTHING AT ALL SCREWY DURING PREFLT OR TAXIOUT, DON'T FLY--GET IT CHKED. LUCKILY NO DAMAGE TO ACFT AND NO INJURIES.
