Narrative:

Departing out of osh, we raised the gear and heard a noticeable clank. Then I noticed the gear unlock light still on. I cycled the gear and still got the unlock light. We continued on to fond du lac, our home base, which is 12 mi south of osh. We completed the before landing checklist and got 3 green gear lights. Everything seemed to be normal. After we touched down and rolled about 1000', the aircraft began to settle down more on the right side. We thought it was a flat tire. We pulled off the runway at an intersection and shut down. We found that the oleo piston had broken away from the gear. We had a broken oleo piston and some gear door and surface skin damage. According to the far's, I did not need to notify the FAA or NTSB, so no notification or report was made.
