Narrative:

After doing run-up and setting radios, I was cleared for intersection takeoff. While placing ballpoint pen in secure position and taxiing for takeoff, ballpoint pen flew apart and caused a cockpit distraction. I turned onto tango taxiway and departed. As I was rotating I realized my error and apologized to tower. Apology was acknowledged by tower with 'no problem' comment.

Narrative: AFTER DOING RUN-UP AND SETTING RADIOS, I WAS CLRED FOR INTXN TKOF. WHILE PLACING BALLPOINT PEN IN SECURE POS AND TAXIING FOR TKOF, BALLPOINT PEN FLEW APART AND CAUSED A COCKPIT DISTR. I TURNED ONTO TANGO TXWY AND DEPARTED. AS I WAS ROTATING I REALIZED MY ERROR AND APOLOGIZED TO TWR. APOLOGY WAS ACKNOWLEDGED BY TWR WITH 'NO PROB' COMMENT.
