Narrative:

During power advancement, the takeoff warning horn sounded and I called for abort. The aircraft was stopped. Upon review, the CDU switch was in the normal position rather than the top position. It is evident that this PIC failed to position this switch correctly during the previous flight's descent checklist. Other factors: my company has revised (reorganized) the checklist several times (in excess of 5) since the 3 yrs I have been flying this aircraft. Possible factor: this was my 88TH departure in 4/91.
