Narrative:

On taxi out at btv, ATIS advised taxiway kilo closed to aircraft over 66500 pounds. We were advised 'taxi to runway 33 cleared to cross runway 01.' we acknowledged full clearance. I looked at the airport page and observed taxiway K running from a commuter ramp to a short, unnamed taxiway which we have always used to get to the departure end of runway 33. Also I observed the note regarding the weight restriction, along with an arrow pointing to that section of the taxiway marked 'K'. I followed our normal route to the departure end of runway 33, which I have used dozens of times over the years, both as captain and as copilot. That route (which is the only route to the departure end which doesn't require back taxiing) leaves taxiway C just prior to runway 33 and intersects what appears to be an extension of K. We were cleared for takeoff west/O event. The copilot later brought it to my attention that we may have used taxiway kilo. I again looked at the airport chart, and it appears to me that the weight restriction applies to the taxiway which leads to the commuter ramp which is marked 'K'. I still don't know if we're wrong. Tower never said anything nor did any clearance mention back taxiing, which would be required if we used charlie. The taxiway surface was unchanged from my previous times in btv, and we have always used the route I described. However, I don't remember ever seeing the restriction on weight before. If that surface has been changed, more specific taxi instructions might prevent a problem. In keeping with your topics listed, we were doing the pretkof checklist as this occurred. Also, a moderate rain was falling, and when I turned on the wipers, I discovered that my wiper blade only wiped about a 1 1/2' wide arc, which distraction me momentarily. That was the first time I'd needed the wipers on this airplane. All of these things may have distraction me.

Title: ACR LGT PIC WONDERS IF HE TAXIED ON A WEIGHT RESTRICTED TXWY.

Narrative: ON TAXI OUT AT BTV, ATIS ADVISED TXWY KILO CLOSED TO ACFT OVER 66500 LBS. WE WERE ADVISED 'TAXI TO RWY 33 CLRED TO CROSS RWY 01.' WE ACKNOWLEDGED FULL CLRNC. I LOOKED AT THE ARPT PAGE AND OBSERVED TXWY K RUNNING FROM A COMMUTER RAMP TO A SHORT, UNNAMED TXWY WHICH WE HAVE ALWAYS USED TO GET TO THE DEP END OF RWY 33. ALSO I OBSERVED THE NOTE REGARDING THE WEIGHT RESTRICTION, ALONG WITH AN ARROW POINTING TO THAT SECTION OF THE TXWY MARKED 'K'. I FOLLOWED OUR NORMAL ROUTE TO THE DEP END OF RWY 33, WHICH I HAVE USED DOZENS OF TIMES OVER THE YEARS, BOTH AS CAPT AND AS COPLT. THAT RTE (WHICH IS THE ONLY RTE TO THE DEP END WHICH DOESN'T REQUIRE BACK TAXIING) LEAVES TXWY C JUST PRIOR TO RWY 33 AND INTERSECTS WHAT APPEARS TO BE AN EXTENSION OF K. WE WERE CLRED FOR TKOF W/O EVENT. THE COPLT LATER BROUGHT IT TO MY ATTN THAT WE MAY HAVE USED TXWY KILO. I AGAIN LOOKED AT THE ARPT CHART, AND IT APPEARS TO ME THAT THE WEIGHT RESTRICTION APPLIES TO THE TXWY WHICH LEADS TO THE COMMUTER RAMP WHICH IS MARKED 'K'. I STILL DON'T KNOW IF WE'RE WRONG. TWR NEVER SAID ANYTHING NOR DID ANY CLRNC MENTION BACK TAXIING, WHICH WOULD BE REQUIRED IF WE USED CHARLIE. THE TXWY SURFACE WAS UNCHANGED FROM MY PREVIOUS TIMES IN BTV, AND WE HAVE ALWAYS USED THE RTE I DESCRIBED. HOWEVER, I DON'T REMEMBER EVER SEEING THE RESTRICTION ON WEIGHT BEFORE. IF THAT SURFACE HAS BEEN CHANGED, MORE SPECIFIC TAXI INSTRUCTIONS MIGHT PREVENT A PROB. IN KEEPING WITH YOUR TOPICS LISTED, WE WERE DOING THE PRETKOF CHKLIST AS THIS OCCURRED. ALSO, A MODERATE RAIN WAS FALLING, AND WHEN I TURNED ON THE WIPERS, I DISCOVERED THAT MY WIPER BLADE ONLY WIPED ABOUT A 1 1/2' WIDE ARC, WHICH DISTR ME MOMENTARILY. THAT WAS THE FIRST TIME I'D NEEDED THE WIPERS ON THIS AIRPLANE. ALL OF THESE THINGS MAY HAVE DISTR ME.
